And She Flew

When he loved her
Little did he know that she was two
Two faces blended into one
What he saw was the mask
What slept beneath was her
The carefree bird,
Who longed for nothing but freedom
Who paid price for her thirst
Cutting down the shackles of love, she flew
Into the vast skies, into the swift winds
Away from commitments, away from him
Her wings spread along and she smiled
She quenched her thirst
Yet she was haunted,
By the demons of lonesomeness
The gushing winds dried her tears
She wept till she couldn’t any more
Pain ceased to be felt
She flew again into the vast skies
Searching what she lost
And found solace in many arms
Those arms held her
Lustfully guided her into rooms
When they ravished her body
And stained her sanctity
She dreamt of him
The sturdy arms, the warm hugs, the tender kisses
It was nothing like brutal lust
She had bartered love for freedom
A tear traced path along her cheeks
She woke up in strange rooms
With butchered body and soul
It was too late she knew
The path shall not be traced back
She had to fly
Once again she flew into the vast skies
Always searching for what she lost….she flew
